On Monday, August 21, NCSSM had its kickoff for their Sustainability project that is serving as a major focus for the student government this year. As well as being very important to the school, NCSSM is also participating on a committee to implement sustainability practices throughout the North Carolina University System. The event started out with the keynote speaker, William Winner, Ph. D., talking to the students about what sustainability is and why it is so important. Then, there were many breakout sessions that the students attended to learn more about ares in sustainability that interested them.
